January 2009!!!

Hello everyone!!!!
I hope everyone is well on their way to holding true to those New Year Resolutions. ;)
I really only have one....see.....as depressing as this is to say....I will turn 40 this year!!! Unbelievable.....where did the time go??? I don't feel like I am 40......but as I was putting my make up on this morning.....it was confirmed....there was no question in my mind....I definately look 40.
Anyway.....my goal for the year is to lose 30 pounds before I turn 40. So far I am off to a good start...in that I have had to go to the orthodonist twice this month already due to some complications with the "metal hardware" as I refer to it.....or "my grill"....anyway...my mouth has been extremely sore since the 5th of January...so I have not ate much solid food all month. Now, one would think this would be a good thing....but if you have read my profile ....you know that I LOVE ice cream...so needless to say that has been my food of choice while the mouth is healing. But, I am still managing to drop a little weight in the process as I am only eating the ice cream once a day. :)

Anyway, I shouldn't complain.....some people have told me that 40 is the new 30 ..so I am going to focus on that and hope that is true. I mean it beats the alternative ...right?

So.....since I shoot most of my photos outside....I haven't had much going on this month. It's been nice to have some time though to catch up on school and study more.

However, Spring will be here before you know it!!! (not soon enough if you ask me...I hate winter....I really should move to a warmer climate....I am seriously like in a bad mood from November thru February until Spring hits).
So.......if you are planning on booking Senior pictures...please call as soon as possible as I have some weddings booked already and Spring and Summer will be a very busy time of year. I like to make sure we allow plenty of time for ordering so that if you plan to include a picture with your announcements that will allow you adequate mailing time.

December ---- WOW!!!!!!

Oh......my........goodness!!!!!!
I think all the Christmas Cards have been ordered and I am finally caught up on editing photos and I am now starting to shop. I wish my kids were small again....shopping was so much more fun then...now they are at that age they just want money and gift cards...how much fun is that??? Oh well, guess you can't keep them little forever. :(

I finally had a chance to sit down this week and work on some packages that I am pleased to announce!!!! The first one I want to tell you about is a package called the "Bundle of Joy" package. This package will include a maternity session for the mom-to-be, a newborn session when the baby arrives, then a session at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. The package price will be $150.00. Once the package is purchased you will not pay another session fee for any of the 6 sessions included! You will also recieve a free 8x10 at each session of your favorite pose, 25% off birth announcements, and at the end of the 1 year as a gift from me, you will receive a Storyboard that will include one of your favorite poses from each session.
This package makes a GREAT shower gift!!!!!!

Also, I have had a ton of people asking me if I am going to offer photo CD's. I had originally decided not to do this. However, I have now decided to offer the following package/plan for Digital Negatives.
Orders placed over the amount of $300.00 will recive a photo CD with the digital negatives from the session. However, only the photos PURCHASED on the original order will be included on the photo CD. A written release from LaShawna Kay Photography will accompany the CD. All photo orders over $500.00 will receive the ENTIRE gallery on photo CD, along with a copyright release as well.

Birthday Parties!!!!!
I will now also offer a birthday party package. This shoot will include shooting up to one hour before the scheduled party, then up to 2 hours during the party as well. Having someone take the pictures frees up Mom and Dad to enjoy the party without having to worry about snapping pictures. A photo CD is included with all the images taken in the package price with a copyright release for you to print as many photos and at a photo lab of your choice.
The price for this package is: $125.00

Family Reunions:
I will also offer a package for Family Reunions as well. This shoot will include 1 -2 hours of shooting at the reunion of individual families in group shots. A photo CD will be included with a copyright release for you to print as many photos and at a photo lab of your choice.
The price for this package is: $200.00

I am also now offering Gift Certificates as well. These can be used towards a session fee or towards purchasing prints. These make great shower gifts as well!!!!

I have had to increase the price of some of the larger prints. Effective January 1, 2009 all prints 11x14 and larger will be ordered with a lustre coating and mounted on syrene board for stability and print longevity. Please see the Investment section on the website for the new prices.

I loved this shot....I think the parents were thinking "what handsome boys we have!!!"

She didn't know I was taking this........this shot just takes my breath away....so genuine.

This is a dear friend of mine's daughter.....I absolutely loved the sun. The horses just walked up to the fence like they were supposed to be there for the shoot. :)
